MELO-M MEGA ORĶESTRA LIELKONCERTS

On August 1, the “Melo-M Mega Orchestra” will present two concerts at Dzintari Concert Hall, offering a grand-scale cello orchestra sound and a musically colorful concert program.

Alongside the musicians of the trio “Melo-M,” the orchestra will feature 130 cellists from across Latvia, representing different generations of musicians. Performers will include children and young people currently studying the cello, as well as students, professional musicians, and senior performers who will once again have the opportunity to return to the stage. The “Melo-M Mega Orchestra” concert will take place for the sixth time.

The program will include performances of well-known and beloved compositions that are popular worldwide, as well as original works by composer Kārlis Auzāns, specially created for this concert for 130 cellos and percussion.

The program is stylistically diverse, making it accessible to a wide audience – families, young people, and lovers of both classical and popular music.

Concert producer and cellist Kārlis Auzāns says: “It is a great joy to have the opportunity to perform together with such a large ensemble of cellists, as well as to delight and surprise the audience with such a grand and unique collective cello sound. The concert is a unique event in Latvia’s cultural sphere and even in Europe, when 130 cellists will perform together on one stage.”

The cello sound will be enhanced by two outstanding percussionists – Miķelis Vite and Māriņš Miļevskis.
