On 17 July, as part of the Jūrmala Festival, the concert “Born in Latvia” will take place — a programme that has become one of the festival’s most anticipated traditions. The evening will bring together artists born in Latvia — soloists and instrumentalists of different generations who represent Latvia on concert stages both at home and abroad.
The concert will feature soprano Inga Kalna and Kristīne Matvejeva, baritone Valdis Jansons, violinist Elīna Bukša, cellist Kristaps Bergs, organist Oskars Kalniņš, and oboist Rinalds Rozenlauks. The soloists will be joined by the Jūrmala Festival Orchestra, conducted by Ainārs Rubiķis.
The programme will highlight the richness of classical music, the individuality and musicality of the soloists, and a shared sense of connection to Latvia. “Born in Latvia” stands as a testament to the talent of Latvian musicians, their creative diversity, and their ability to inspire audiences both in Latvia and beyond.
