On May 28 at 19:00, a special concert will take place at the Liepāja Lutera Church, centered around the Hammond organ manufactured in 1937 at the VEF factory. Students of jazz piano from Riga Cathedral Choir School, Liepāja Secondary School of Music, Art and Design, and the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music will take their seats at this unique instrument.
The concert program will feature themes ranging from jazz classics to works by contemporary composers, guiding the sound of the Hammond organ through different eras and stylistic directions of jazz music.

Gustavs Oto Iesalnieks (RCCS, 3rd year)
Accompanying ensemble: JVLMA students Andris Žabris (drums) and Toms Dimitrs (guitar).
The concert will also feature JVLMA professor, saxophonist and clarinetist Indriķis Veitners, as well as Hammond organist and keyboardist Atis Andersons. A special musical color will be added by the LMMDV vocal ensemble led by jazz vocalist and composer Santa Šillere.
The concert will be hosted by Ance Bērziņa, a student of the Musicology Department at JVLMA.
This concert promises to be an engaging musical journey, where young musicians and experienced artists will reveal the diverse sound of the Hammond organ in jazz music.

Visitor information: The church has wheelchair-accessible entry from the side; however, the concert takes place on the balcony on the 2nd floor. It is possible to listen to the concert from the hall on the 1st floor.
